"We had a girlfriends weekend in Charleston and had a wonderful time! Our two unit house comfortably accommodated the 6 of us. We spent every evening on the top unit porch enjoying the weather and drinking wine! The house was conveniently located to great restaurants and bakeries. It was an easy drive to the historic area, shopping and downtown restaurants. Walk Away Stays staff were very helpful with every question we had. Highly recommend them!" -Katrina, November 2016
“Six family members stayed here for a 4 night visit to Charleston. The booking process and arrival at the property was very easy. The apartment is located in a residential neighborhood about 30 minute walk from the historic district. The property is in an old house converted into 2 separate units. It is spacious and comfortable. Some of the furnishings are a little tired and the porch overlooks the back of a ( good) Asian restaurant but in general we enjoyed our stay and I recommend this as an alternative to a hotel -especially for a group of family or friends.” - Eileen, November 2015
“This is the second time we stayed here. We liked the convenience of having several adults with separate rooms, a comfortable gathering place for everyone, and convenient location. If we stayed in a hotel, we would have required three separate hotel rooms, would not have had a den, kitchen, porch or parking included. An apartment allows the group to easily gather and come and go as they please. For three hotel rooms, it would have cost us almost twice as much in Charleston as we paid for this spot. It is more relaxing and less expensive than staying in a hotel, and we have a kitchen and common area. The bedrooms are a good size and the master bedroom is quite large, with more space than you can use. We did some cooking for breakfast and ate out the rest of the time. My only criticisms are the stove did not have a good vent and the extra charge for internet use. We’ll be back!” - Hale, May 2015
“Our stay was perfect! We were allowed to check in early which fit our travel plans perfectly. We ran out of towels and were brought more. The place was in walking distance of several restaurants and bars. We even walked to king street for shopping. The place was clean, the beds were comfortable, it really felt like home. Porch was perfect, it is a charming row house in the middle of everything, parking was a little tricky but nothing major. I am recommending you all to friends, truly wonderful experience!” - Jennifer W, April 2015
“I have stayed in my last hotel when I visit Charleston. This property has so much more to offer compared to a standard room. This unit includes a functional kitchen and dedicated dining room with room for 6. The folks at Walk Away Stays were easy to work with, and we were able to walk right in to start our weekend. This experience has me looking forward to our next trip to Charleston.” - Matt
“This is a beautiful unit. We thoroughly enjoyed staying here. The beds and bedding are extremely comfortable and the space was perfect for us (family of 4 plus my father). The parking at the rear of the property is easy to navigate/manouvre (we had 2 cars. There are great restaurants within a block. Enjoying a glass of wine on the upstairs deck after a long day on our feet was the perfect end to each day! We would highly recommend 226B.” - Sally
“The place was beautiful and had the old Charleston look, very clean and much more than what we expected. We definitely suggest any family needing a large place to stay while visiting Charleston to use this unit. Thanks Walk Away Stays!” - Mark & Kathy
