Walk everywhere from this charming historic midtown home that is in Elliotborough, one of downtown’s hottest neighborhoods. Restaurants, coffee shops, yoga studios, shopping and 3 college campuses all within walking distance. And just a short drive to the pristine beaches of Sullivan’s Island and Isle of Palms! Its ample size of 1400 square feet is large enough for 4 people to easily enjoy, but quite cozy if there’s only 2 of you! Each of the spacious 2 bedrooms have queen beds.
The tree-lined street is quiet (which means you’ll have a great night’s sleep), but 2 blocks from King Street, where you’ll find the buzz of cafes, restaurants, galleries, shopping and a vibrant night life. Unlike many downtown properties, this property comes with 2 off-street parking spaces. You’ll never have to stress about finding or paying for a place to park.
The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking up your own meals, and there’s a gas grill on the cozy hidden tree-covered garden patio. If you don’t want to brew up the Charleston roasted coffee that is provided for you, just meander across the street to Eclectic Café (or other coffee shops) to enjoy local coffees and baked goods. The large dining area is open to the living room and kitchen, perfect for family game nights or lingering after your home-cooked meals. And it is decorated with both of the owners’ original artwork and beautiful antique furnishings. A beach umbrella, 2 beach chairs and boogie boards are included for your enjoyment. And for your convenience, Walk Away Stays provides the highest quality luxury linens, towels, and hotel style toiletries.

"5 stars. Stayed at 242 with Walk Away Stays for a solid week with four people in my party. Great place, very spacious, and wonderful people. Price was more than fair and reasonable. Overall, I was extremely happy." - William, November 2017
"Perfect! Great location: easy to hop on the highway, get across the river or go downtown using CARTA (free city bus); close walk to very good, casual restaurants. Great home: large rooms; comfortable furniture (especially the living room sofas!); well-stocked kitchen; hotel-quality linens; lovely artwork. Great city: lots to see and do, from relaxing on the beach to historic tours. Hope to visit again soon!" - Jean, October 2017
"Our stay was fantastic! The apartment was perfect for our stay. It had enough room for us, it felt like home. The location was accessible to many places, easy walk to Eclectic for a cup of coffee, breakfast or lunch. It was also a plus to have 2 parking spots on property." - Linda, August 2017
"This property was amazing for our group that was traveling to Charleston for a wedding! It was clean and provided all the amenities we needed for this three day weekend! It was a great size for a group of 6, it was super spacious!" - Abbie, July 2017
"Better than we expected! Everything was as advertised and more! The location was great and offered lots of options for a large group. The home was equally as perfect for a reunion with friends to celebrate our future bride- plenty of space and amenities to fulfill all our needs!" - Melissa, July 2017
“This was a wonderful place!!! It was larger than I expected and was beautifully decorated. We had 6 adults and had plenty of room. I absolutely loved the porch off the front bedroom, great for morning coffee and a glass of wine at night. The off-street parting was great too since parking in Charleston is crazy. We used the grill outback and it was the perfect set up with the tables and chairs and nicely secluded from the street. I would definitely stay here again.” - Julie
“242A was perfect for our family’s Christmas getaway! The space worked well for the 7 of us (all adults), and we were able to walk downtown. We found excellent restaurants just a short distance from the apartment - Hominy Grill and Xiao Bao Biscuit. Two of us even took a yoga class at the studio on the corner. We cooked two ambitious dinners and a breakfast and found the kitchen a little lacking in equipment, so we had to be very creative.” - Pat
“Our family would like to thank Walk Away Stays for a wonderful visit to Charleston. This was our first time and we loved it. Having the golf cart was a plus to the experience. We were able to see a lot of Charleston this way. The location of the property was great also. Walking distance to a store (Charlie’s Grocery). We had an amazing time.” - Ramon
